Author Alice Crespo was born premature. She was placed in an incubator so she could fully develop, but she was given too much oxygen and lost her sense of sight. Having lived her entire life with a disability, she penned her book Never Be Discouraged: With God, All Things Are Possible (published by Inspiring Voices) to motivate readers to never give up, regardless of their struggles. Crespo is refreshing the marketing for her book in 2015 to bring it to a wider audience.
Crespos family was very poor and not compensated for what happened to her as a newborn. But she was still able to break the cycle of poverty, despite her blindness. She is now a Spanish interpreter and runs a nonprofit organization, Helping Hands for the Disabled of NYC, for helping other disabled people.
I grew up with nothing, but through Gods love and mercy and my own hard work, I broke the poverty cycle, Crespo says. I know that you can do the same, no matter what the struggle is. God is on our side; he wants us to win.
Never Be Discouraged offers readers messages of hope and encouragement, interspersed with details from Crespos life. Crespo hopes to reach a wider audience with the story of her life to encourage more readers to never give up on their dreams.

About the Author
Alice Crespo was born in 1952 in New York City, raised in Brooklyn and grew up totally blind. She had to learn many things and she realized that, with Gods help, there was nothing she couldnt do; the sky was the limit. She is now 60 years old and she wants to share her experiences and her life lessons with readers. Never Be Discouraged is her first book.
